SalariesByCity provides salary data by US city and occupation, anchored to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey.

We built this tool to help job seekers, hiring managers, and curious professionals understand real market rates — without paywalls or required signups.

How Our Figures Are Sourced

Every salary figure on the site comes from one source: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) May 2025 release. For each occupation we use the BLS estimate for the named metropolitan statistical area, state or the nation exactly as published in the BLS data files: the median and the 25th, 75th and 90th percentile annual wages, plus employment. Each page states the BLS occupation code it uses in its source line.

Where BLS suppresses an estimate, the value or page is omitted rather than modeled. BLS figures are survey estimates, and price-level adjustments (a BLS wage divided by a BEA regional price parity) are derived figures intended for orientation, not as a guarantee of any individual's pay.
